The development team behind the popular Disney Infinity video game franchise is bringing something new to their gamer experience, “Toy Box Tales”.
Disney is releasing new toy boxes, in an episodic fashion, that’ll allow you an opportunity to play alongside the Marvel superheroes in an all new storyline. These toy boxes have been designed to not only be played, but they’re completely deconstruct-able as you’re able tear them down in order to learn how they were assembled.
“All levels are built in the Toy Box with toys that everyone who played through the game would have access to,” says level designer Patrick Efird.
The first of the new toy box tales, recently added, sees the player fighting against the Red Skull aboard S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarrier, and pursuing him into Hydra’s submarine base. Subsequent additions will be released each Thursday, will include Spider-Man, Nick Fury and Guardians of the Galaxy in a continuous episodic storyline.
“It has a television feel,” says Toy Box mode’s lead designer Chad Liddell. “Tune in every Thursday.”
If players want to see the inner workings of each level, they can view, edit, and even save their own remixed versions of these Toy Box Tales.
“Nothing’s stopping them from taking and deconstructing it,” says Liddell.
As much as people will certainly enjoy playing through these tales as new toy box levels, the essence behind this endeavor is truly sharing all of the tips, tricks, and capabilities of the Disney Infinity 2.0 toy box toys. For anyone that has wondered what is truly possible within the toy box, these tales will certainly prove that anything is possible.
