I doubt that anyone is surprised to by the news, but its been officially announced the Arkham Knight will have a Season Pass that promises to be well stocked and properly maintained to deliver content regularly.

The Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass will deliver regular new content for six months post-launch including new story missions, additional super-villains invading Gotham City, legendary Batmobile skins, advanced challenge maps, alternative character skins, and new driveable race tracks. The Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition includes the main game and the Season Pass.

Both the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass and Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition are now available for pre-order from participating retailers. The Season Pass is priced at £32.99 (approx $36.05) and the Premium Edition, which includes both the Season Pass and the main game, is priced at £87.98 (approx $96.13) for console, and £67.98 (approx $74.28) for PC.

Batman: Arkham Knight brings the award-winning Batman: Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady Studios to its epic conclusion. Developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PCs, Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile. The highly anticipated addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman: Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.

In this explosive finale, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city that he is sworn to protect, as Scarecrow returns to unite the super criminals of Gotham and destroy the Batman forever.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on 23rd June, 2015 exclusively for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

In all honesty, I’m not all that interested in the prospect of buying alternate character or Batmobile skins. However I’m always interested in new challenge maps that up the ante in terms of skill & difficulty, really hoping for new Predator maps as well. Ideally we’ll also receive new in game story content, whether its added side missions or storyline for the other characters in the game. And I’m really intrigued by the idea of the racetracks, primarily because it just might mean my son will be able to play too.

At the end of the day, it’s all really going to depend on the depth of the DLC, how much actual gameplay is provided, and the frequency they’re going to be releasing it in order for me to justify tacking on an additional $40 cost.
