Bossa Studios is excited to share a wealth of new screens straight from Worlds Adrift, they highlight a variety of lighting conditions, a day/ night cycle, one of the floating islands, a female character, and of course the newly added grappling hook in action.
Wait a minute… Did you say you aren’t familiar with Worlds Adrift? Then it’s time you familiarize yourself and get this on your radar. Worlds Adrift is the latest adventure from Bossa Studios, the creators of Surgeon Simulator and I am Bread.
A thousand years ago, a great calamity shattered the world into floating islands scattered across an endless skyline. Ragtag bands wander from island to island on cobbled together airships, discovering lost technology and scavenging for resources to keep flying.
You are one of these nomads. You will build your own fully customisable ship, keep it fueled and repaired, and constantly look to improve it as you deal with predators of the skies, gargantuan storms, and rival explorers. Still, in the back of your mind, you can’t help but ask: How did my world become this way? What really happened, eons ago?
Worlds Adrift sees a return to the roots of online multiplayer games: a free-form exploration and adventure game where players create their own objectives and tell their own stories through their actions.
Worlds Adrift provides a setting that will live and breathe. There will be creatures that eat and live and die, trees that grow, ruins that hold secrets, and wreckage that rusts and rots, all inside a world that can be permanently affected by your actions. You are a part of the world, and it’s up to you to decide how you will make your mark.
Determined to ensure that Worlds Adrift becomes the game that we all want to play, they’re engaging their community on a regular basis sharing ideas and pooling their votes on ideas in the works. One such idea that’s currently in the works is the possibility of including a tower defense aspect into the game, where you’ll be able to apply the same cobbling mechanics that you employ to build/ maintain your airship into building/ maintaining a fort that you’ll need to defend against all odds.
