DEAL: American Dream Is Tabletop Strategy At It’s Best, An Exclusive Q&A With The Creator

It’s no coincidence that some of the most popular television series’ in recent years have been Breaking Bad, Narcos, Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, and The Wire. We’re captivated by the darkness, we lurk in the shadows hoping to catch a glimpse of the criminal underworld and their illicit activities… As long as we can do it from the safety of our own homes. The only real problem with this approach, even the greatest shows have to come to an end. When that happens, how do you indulge your dark side without the risk of living dangerously.

DEAL: American Dream is your chance to become the leader of a criminal organization vying for control over the illicit drug trade, in an epic tabletop strategy game.

In order to win, you’ll need to earn respect through the production, sale, and trade of dope while expanding your operation by any means necessary. At it’s core, DEAL is about alliances and betrayal. Players have to negotiate, fix prices, establish distribution networks, trust each other and, of course, backstab one another in the name of the almighty dollar.

If you’re anything like me or the 405 backers that successfully funded the game on Kickstarter, you won’t want to miss this exclusive Q&A session with, Tristan, the creator of DEAL.

Friday The 13th: The Game Reaches The End Of Their Kickstarter And It’s Only The Beginning

Even though the Kickstarter campaign for Friday the 13th: The Game came to a close, on Friday November 13th, this is only the beginning for Gun Media & Illfonic as they successfully funded the game. Thanks to the fans and the 12,218 backers of the campaign, they were able to slaughter their $700K goal and raise a total of $823,704.

“We already had funding to make the original concept of the game,’ said Gun studio head and co-creator Wes Keltner. ‘The moment we became Friday the 13th: The Game, we knew we had a responsibility to give every single Friday the 13th fan (ourselves included), the game we’ve all been waiting for. To do that, Kickstarter was the answer, and fans have delivered!”

For those of you that might not have been following the campaign that closely, here’s a quick recap of; the stretch goals that were unlocked, what’s next for the stretch goals that weren’t funded, and a very early pre-alpha look at actual gameplay in action!

Friday The 13th: The Game Breaks The $500K Barrier, Revealing Their First Wave Of Stretch Goals

It’s no secret that I’m a self proclaimed horror fiend, so it shouldn’t come as a shock that I’m thrilled by the prospect of Friday The 13th: The Game becoming a reality.

However in order for the nightmare of every camp counselor to rise from the depths of Camp Crystal Lake, Gun Media is relying on the fans to #UnleashJason on Kickstarter. The campaign has been live for 11 days, however thanks to the 7,592 backers and all of the fans that have been keeping the conversation alive, they’ve managed to break the $500,000 barrier bringing the team one step closer to their $700,000 baseline goal.

Hitting the $500K mark not only means that the team is one step closer to making Friday The 13th: The Game a reality, its also the threshold in which Gun media was going to reveal the first batch of their stretch goals.

And they delivered…  Continue reading Friday The 13th: The Game Breaks The $500K Barrier, Revealing Their First Wave Of Stretch Goals

Friday The 13th: The Game, An Exclusive Q&A With Co-Creator Wes Keltner

Last week I was thrilled to share the news that Gun Media will be taking us back to Camp Crystal Lake in 2016. For the first time since the 1989 NES classic, horror fiends and gamers alike will be able to immerse themselves in the terrifying world of Friday The 13th: The Game for PS4, Xbox One, & PC. However the team is taking a completely different approach than it’s side-scrolling predecessor, Gun is developing an experience that’ll leave you feeling as if you’re actually a part of the iconic horror franchise with an online 1v7 asymmetrical multiplayer approach.

In order to create the definitive Friday the 13th experience, they knew they’d need to engage the fans to ensure Friday the 13th: The Game lives up to the same standards that they’ve have come to love from the film series. Their Kickstarter campaign will allow them to create a gaming experience that’ll be scary as hell, while bringing the brutal violence and gore that the fans deserve.

Whether you’ve already backed the campaign or you’re still on the fence, I’m thrilled to share with you an exclusive Q&A with Wes Keltner, Co-Creator of Friday the 13th: The Game, where we take a moment to talk about the early stages of development, in game features, and the Kickstarter.

Hopefully we’ll answer a few questions that you’ve been asking, if not you’ll find that the Kickstarter page is still going to be your best resource for in depth information.

The Tactical Stealth Shooter Red Awakening Needs Your Help On Kickstarter

When I originally stumbled onto Red Awakening it was during an earlier build of the game, however it was enough to get me excited. Domino Effect Ltd was determined to take everything that made the 80’s great, then make it even better. I can’t express how thrilled I am that the Kickstarter campaign for Red Awakening is in full swing.

What is Red Awakening?

Welcome to the Program… In the mid 1980’s America is on the brink of collapse, the unemployment rate soars as hundreds of thousands of students boycott schools across the country.

Youth violence is out of control, with once peaceful protests turning to violent riots in the streets. Fearing a civil war with the youth of America and the ever-increasing threat of communism, the powers-that-be covertly fund a clandestine CIA mind control program, code-named “Red Awakening”.
