Remember The Fun Times Of Hide & Seek As A Kid? Refuge Is A Gritty, Dark Rendition That Would’ve Terrified As A Child

It isn’t everyday that I stumble onto a Kickstarter project that gets me excited, however the mere premise for Refuge was enough to peak my interest. When you take the concept and combine it with the atmospheric beauty contained within the world of Refuge, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited…

Anybody who has enjoyed the breathless anticipation of hide-and-seek will be hooked by Refuge, a stylish video game, being launched on Kickstarter, which brings a gritty twist to this gentle pursuit.

This novel two-player title is set on a fantastical island settlement named ‘The Ark’ where both of the characters have mysteriously washed up. The aim is simple: to survive longer than the other player. You can either hunt down and kill your opponent directly – or hide and ‘outlive’ them amid the harsh elements on the Ark.

So will you hunt or try to survive the longest? The choice is yours.  Continue reading Remember The Fun Times Of Hide & Seek As A Kid? Refuge Is A Gritty, Dark Rendition That Would’ve Terrified As A Child

Heavily Based In The Mythos Of HP Lovecraft, Euclidean Will Be Creeping It’s Way Onto Steam This Month

The Alpha Wave team has released a new trailer for Euclidean ahead of the game’s September 25th launch on Steam. It does a good job of capturing the tension and atmosphere of this haunting game. It’s not horror in the traditional sense… but something is certainly amiss.

Behind our comfortable, familiar dimensions, beyond the timeless depths of space, there is a Place that mankind was not meant to know. A Place hostile to all life. We do not belong there. We cannot survive there. At least, not for long… Euclidean; a game of geometric horror; a slow descent into the dark, into madness, futility, and despair, where things greater than you watch and wait and dream. Struggle for every second of life you have left…

Even knowing you’re better off dead.

Through The Woods, Tense Psychological Horror That Lies In Norwegian Mythology

through the woods

Back in March I shared my excitement for Through The Woods, an upcoming psychological horror game based on Norwegian mythology, art, and elements of Japanese horror games. Antagonist has recently revealed a few key elements regarding the story, gameplay, the wealth of talent behind the scenes, and a new trailer…

Starting with what we already know…

Set on the coast of Norway, Through the Woods tells the story of the extremes a mother would go to in order to save her child.  The narrative begins with the mother, Karen, who is being interrogated regarding the mysterious disappearance of her son. Gameplay starts as she recounts the terrible events surrounding this tragedy.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Teaser Trailer First Impressions

From the moment that Ben Affleck was cast, the internet was set on fire as to whether or not he could pull it off. Initially I had my own reservations about the news, mainly because I kept picturing the Ben Affleck from Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Daredevil. However once I came to terms with the fact the he’s grown as an actor, I realized how good that casting was. Based on his age and build, I had my suspicions that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was going to find its roots in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. Then we received the first image of Ben Affleck as Batman, my suspicions were confirmed.

However this just prompted more questions as to the direction of the film.

Then the official “teaser” trailer was released… Even though I still have questions, I can safely say we all have a much better idea of what we can expect to see next year.
