Today SQUARE ENIX unveiled the FINAL FANTASY XV  “Dawn Trailer 2.0” at Tokyo Game Show 2015. This is an updated trailer that depicts protagonists Noctis and Luna as they reflect on the tragic events of their respective pasts, which set the stage for the narrative of FINAL FANTASY XV. Players will catch a glimpse of the fateful duo’s internal strife as Luna struggles against the restrictive imperial hold over Niflheim and Noctis prepares himself for the journey ahead.

Square Enix Revealed That Final Fantasy XV Will Be Released In 2016

At this past weekend’s Active Time Report (ATR) from PAX Prime, SQUARE ENIX® confirmed that FINAL FANTASY® XV will be released in 2016. Director Hajime Tabata also revealed new assets and showcased a video message from Avalanche Studios Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Christofer Sundberg.

“We’re proud of our technical capabilities and the work we’ve done to help shape the open-world genre,” said Sundberg. “We hold the FINAL FANTASY franchise, and the team working on it, in such high regard and are excited to be a part of the next chapter.”

New videos, concept art and screenshots were also unveiled at PAX Prime, giving gamers a glimpse at Caem, a secret outpost near the sea that acts as a port for transferring players between continents, and a closer look at the game’s driving feature.
