Nintendo adding new functionality to amiibo figures this year

Today in a financial results briefing,┬áNintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata┬árevealed the details for the next step in the evolution of the popular toys to life amiibo figure series. In the first half of this year, we’ll see the release of an app that will allow you to play selected scenes from popular NES & SNES titles.
